Test & Integration Engineer
based in Brighton
Job Purpose & Duties
The successful candidate will work alongside our development team
ensuring the quality of NetDev’s products.
The Test & Integration Engineer’s main duties are related
to process and procedure, introducing as much automation as is
feasible. To this end the Test & Integration Engineer
will be required to have some expertise in the same software
environment and techniques as the rest of the development team
although coding will mainly be delegated to the development team.
Duties include :
Specify and assist in the development of automated testing
tools
Develop, maintain, and run acceptance test procedures for outsourced
software
Develop, maintain, and run customer assurance tests for deliveries
Develop, maintain, and run load, capacity, and performance
tests
Develop and maintain build control processes
Keep NetDev’s QA up to date with
developments in software testing techniques
Manage NetDev’s Maven‑based
product repository Maintenance of project websites
Essential Skills and Experience
Experience of formal software testing methodologies
Experience with test automation
Understanding of function testing
Experience of QA practices in a commercial environment
Job Purpose & Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, supporting
and testing software applications utilising JAIN API’s
for NetDev’s network based voice call control and contact
centre solutions.
The Developer will be required to maintain knowledge of the latest
developments in Java in relation to high performance enterprise
applications and make use of them as appropriate.
Duties include :
Develop Function Specifications from customer requirements
Implement customer‑required functionality within standards‑based
and proprietary frameworks and extend existing components to
include new functionality
Produce conformance test software for implementations
Conduct problem analysis
Maintain existing code
Follow NetDev’s Quality Assurance
procedures in the production of new software e.g. production
of Unit Tests and use of Configuration Management tools
Conduct performance analysis of proposed solutions
Ability to produce prototypes within a short timescale
Essential Skills and Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years experience of writing Java in a commercial
environment
Experience of implementing solutions using standard design
patterns
Use of UML & Use Cases
A good understanding of data structures (arrays, linked lists,
hash, tables, trees)
A good understanding of open source software
Experience of producing system level design documentation
Ability to design and create application specific services,
components and interfaces
Ability to test components in accordance with appropriate test
specifications
